Purpose:
To: honor the memory and contributions of Earle Williams and Larry Austin to “Creative Problem Solving”
and” the East Texas Region

 

Amount:$500 (4 scholarships awarded)

 

Deadline: All applications must be postmarked by the date indicated above:  Late applications will not be reviewed.

 

Eligibility: A graduating senior from the East Texas Region who has participated in Destination Imagination in the past or currently participates in Destination Imagination.  Current year participation is not required in order to be eligible for the award.

 

Criteria for the Student:

• Submit the completed application form by the above deadline.
• Include a high school transcript which contains or attaches grades for first semester of the current year.
• Attach list of current spring semester courses being taken.
• Include two letters of recommendation (see application)
• Include an essay (see application)

 

 

Judging: A committee composed of current East Texas Region board members will read and rank all applications submitted.  The decision of the committee is final.

 

Award: The educational scholarship will be awarded in the Spring at the East Texas  Destination Imagination Regional Competition Awards Ceremony.  Attendance at the Awards Ceremony is not required.

 

Payment: The scholarship will be paid to the recipient upon verification of registration at a college or university after high school graduation.  The recipient is responsible for submitting the documentation to the East Texas Regional Treasurer via email to treasurer@easttexasdi.org
